"Developing Effective Coaching Cues and Constraints"
In this workshop, I will begin by reviewing the underlying theory and logic of the constraints-led approach to coaching. What are constraints? Why do we call them that? What do they encourage? This will also include a review of what we know makes for effective cues (which will be considered as informational constraints). What does the research tell us about what we should say as a coach and when? The second part of the workshop will be an interactive activity where we look at designing and modifying cues and constraints for specific coaching challenges. We will work as a group to think through ideas and tackle specific examples. What should we do if the athlete does not respond to the cue or constraint we create?
"Results-based training - it´s not what i thought or ever expected"
"Velocity Based Training - From Theory to Practise and back"
In this workshop we will approach VBT from both the theoretical perspective, by introducing the novel {LEVsim} model that formalizes certain phenomena, as well as from practical perspective, in which we will individually perform various profiles and see how they comply with each other. Focus will be on analysing collected data from theoretical perspective, and also discussing the practical applications of VBT, particulalry the “prescription error” and wheather the VBT is actually practically feasable. Participants will get all the necessary tools to perform the analyses on their own data. Overall, the workshop will be combination of practical data collection, guided analysis, theoretical ramblings, as well as group discussions.
